Set up Outlook

Windows, Mac, iPhone and Android.

If the app asks for settings, these are the same for every PostPike mailbox. The username is your full email address.

Incoming server (IMAP)
imap.postpike.net
Port
993
Outgoing server (SMTP)
smtp.postpike.net
Port
465

Security is SSL/TLS for both. The password is your mailbox password, or an app password if you turned on two-step sign-in.

New Outlook for Windows

  1. Choose View > View settings, then Accounts and Your accounts.
  2. Under Email accounts, select Add Account, enter your email address and select Continue.
  3. Enter your password and select Done. If Outlook can't find the settings, choose its advanced setup and enter the servers above.

Classic Outlook for Windows

  1. Choose File > Add Account and enter your email address.
  2. Select Advanced options, tick Let me set up my account manually, and select Connect.
  3. Choose IMAP, enter the servers above under Account settings, and select Next.
  4. Enter your password and select Connect.
If Outlook never asks for your password, clear Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) in the account's settings.

Outlook for Mac

  1. Choose Outlook > Settings > Accounts, then + Add Account.
  2. Enter your email address and click Continue.
  3. If Outlook guesses the wrong provider, click Not Google, iCloud, Yahoo… and choose IMAP.
  4. Choose Sync directly, so your mail isn't copied to Microsoft's cloud, then click Done.

Outlook on iPhone, iPad or Android

  1. On iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > Accounts > Add Account > Email Account. On Android, go to Settings > Add Account > Add Email Account.
  2. Enter your email address and continue, then choose IMAP.
  3. Turn on Advanced settings, enter your password, and enter the servers with their port after a colon, such as imap.postpike.net:993.
  4. Tap Sign In, or the checkmark on Android.
Microsoft says these apps keep a copy of IMAP mail in its own data centres to sync it. If you'd rather your mail stays only with PostPike, use your phone's own mail app. Outlook syncs only mail this way, not calendars or contacts.
